Brewery Het Anker decided to brew an easy drinkable city beer for the Mechelenians, still peppy enough in order to enjoy it to the fullest. We brew a heroic beer called Maneblusser. It’s a blond beer with an alcohol percentage of 6.2% vol. in which you can taste a subtle citrus aroma and a fine finish. Maneblusser is brewed according to the traditional method of high fermentation with refermentation in the bottle. The inspiration for this brew originates in the night of January 27th in the year 1687. The moon projected its reddish glow on Saint Rumbold’s tower, which was wrapped in a dense fog. “Fire, fire, the tower is on fire!” shouts the dreary voice of a drunken man. The alarm was sounded and people were making haste to help extinguish the so-called fire. Before the tower was reached, the moon slowly moved through the fog. From that moment on, the Mechelenians are called the Maneblussers or “Moonextinguishers”.

Also occasionally available in cask-conditioned form at 5% ABV.

Punk IPA is the beer that kick-started it. This light, golden classic has been subverted with new world hops to create an explosion of flavour. Bursts of caramel and tropical fruit with an all-out riot of grapefruit, pineapple and lychee, precede a spiky bitter finish. This is the beer that started it all - and it’s not done yet... Malts: Pale Ale, Caramalt Hops: Simcoe, Krush, Loral, Citra.

The Val-Dieu Triple is the result of a long fermentation, scrupulously followed by the brewmaster. Its deep yet soft bitterness does not interfer with the discovery of its components. The taste of the hop comes through, naturally aromatized, accompanied by an alcoholic aftertaste. It can be associated with refined dishes and ranks among the great beers. It may be found in the some of the most exclusive restaurants.

Bacchus Cherry is a beautiful claret beer with a luxurious, pinkish-brown head. The fruity aroma of Oblacinska cherries is backed by subtle woody notes and a slight almondy touch derived from the cherry stones. The sour freshness blends seamlessly with softer, sweet nuances enriched by lightly roasted malts and a subtle note of caramel. The mouthfeel is full and well-rounded, with the sour notes transitioning smoothly into a lingering, fulsome sweet aftertaste.

Also sold as Kilkenny Draught. First Brewed 1710 St Francis Abbey. Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale, with its deep red hue and rich, creamy head delivers a distinctively smooth and flavourful taste.

Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-pored white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time (always a pleasure / enjoyment), goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. In 1842, at our brewery in Plzeň, brewer Josef Groll introduced the world to the first golden ‘pilsner’ lager, and changed beer forever. His invention soon became the most popular style of beer on the planet. We’ve brewed Pilsner Urquell in the same brewery using the same recipe for over 175 years. Today, we still insist on using traditional methods, like triple decoction and parallel brewing in wooden lagering barrels. It takes longer but means we never compromise on our taste. Pilsner Urquell’s signature flavour balances sweetness from the triple-decocted malt, and bitterness from our Saaz hops. The thick head of dense wet foam adds smoothness and seals in flavour and aroma. In every sip of Pilsner Urquell you’ll notice a refreshing crispness from natural carbonation, then subtle caramel tones and a clean finish with a pleasing hoppy bitterness.

The addition of dried orange peel at the boiling stage brings a pleasantly fruity aroma to the fore. It harmonises quite beautifully with the well-rounded and delicate taste of this beer.

Duvel is a natural beer with a subtle bitterness, a refined flavour and a distinctive hop character. The unique brewing process, which takes about 90 days, guarantees a pure character, delicate effervescence and a pleasant sweet taste of alcohol. Apart from pure spring water, which is the main ingredient of beer, barley is the most important raw material. Barley must germinate for five days in the malt house, after which malt remains. The colour of the malt and as a consequence also of the beer is determined by the temperature. Duvel obtains its typical bitterness by adding various varieties of aromatic Slovenian and Czech hops. We use only exclusive hops that are renowned for their constant, outstanding quality. Duvel ferments for the first time in tanks at 20 to 26°C. The brewer uses his own culture for this. The original yeast strain, which Victor Moortgat himself selected in the 1920’s, originates from Scotland. After maturing in storage tanks in which the beer is cooled down to -2°C, the drink is ready for bottling. Thanks to the addition of extra sugars and yeast, the beer ferments again in the bottle. This occurs in warm cellars (24°C) and takes two weeks. Then the beer is moved to cold cellars, where it continues to mature and stabilise for a further six weeks. This extra long maturation period is unique and contributes to the refined flavour and pure taste of Duvel.

Gember Goud (Ginger Gold) is a light Pale Ale with a spicy ginger twist. This is without a doubt an intense beer with a sparkling, fresh taste. Bling Bling!

While the original Paix Dieu is said to be a Triple and smooth to perfection, Nova is noted for its blond hue and gently heightened flavours. Light and completely unique, it bears with pride the integrity and savoir-faire of Paix Dieu and is confident of a brilliant future for the brewery and its beers. We call it the new one, but that doesn’t do justice to Nova! For it boldly presents its golden hue to the eye, and its gently heightened flavours to the palate.

This golden ale has a dense white head that invites you to lean in and discover the fragrance of green aromatic hops, yeast and mild fruity notes. The sweet honeyed finish combines a slightly spicy flavor of cumin, ending with a nice kick of hops.

Using all of the same ingredients that we use in the original Tynt Meadow, we have produced a lighter, refreshing English style blond. This beer is 5%, and bottle conditioned.

This is one of the oldest beers of Westmalle Abbey, with a tradition that dates back to the start of our brewery. It was created to drink with meals in the abbey, something the monks still do today. As a top fermented golden yellow Trappist beer, the Extra is unique in combining a low alcohol content (4.8%) with a rich flavour. Enjoy its fruity notes and its refreshing, thirst-quenching character.

This is a Red-Amber crystal clear beer with a typical riche nose and a fine froth. Mild on the palate withwell-balanced bitterness, and notes of caramelized malt.

Gouden Carolus Ambrio is aromatically brewed according to the ancient recipe of the Mechelschen Bruynen. Ambrio is an 'amber' ale brewed with 'brio'. This white beer of high fermentation finds its origin in the traditional beer of the city of Mechelen. As each city had its own typical beer, the Mechelenians drunk their amber beer: "Mechelschen Bruynen" for hundreds of years. Our brewery is the only brewery that still brews this type of beer. According to the tradition the basic recipe of this beer dates from 1421 and is therefore the oldest beer from the brewery. The current version is slightly heavier than the original and finer hopped. The balance between the different malts, the fine hops and typical aromas with herbs ensure that this beer combines the whole-hearted nature of brown beers with the freshness of blonde beers. This flavored and spicy light brown tasting beer should be served fairly fresh. Refermentation in the bottle.

Amber-coloured Trappist ale with a broken white head. A lovely combination of herbal, floral and fruity aromas. La Trappe Isid’or was first brewed in 2009 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of The Koningshoeven Brewery. The harmonious taste starts off fruity and shifts to malty caramel. A perfectly balanced ale. The ale is named after Brother Isidorus, the abbey's first brewer. The aftertaste is pleasantly bitter.

In Napoleon's time Pauwel Kwak was a brewer and the owner of the 'De Hoorn' inn in Dendermonde. Mail coaches stopped there every day. But at that time coachmen were not allowed to leave their coach and horses in order to have their thirst quenched along with their passengers. As a result, the inventive innkeeper had a special Kwak glass blown that could be hung on the coach. In this way the coachman had his Kwak beer safely at hand. LOOK: Kwak is recognisable by its deep bright amber colour and a dense, creamy coloured head. The pale wood of the glass holder makes a pleasant contrast with the beer. SMELL: You will smell a mellow, fruity and malty aroma with a slightly spicy character (coriander, hops). Additional earthy and very subtle aromas of banana and perhaps also a whiff of pineapple or mango in the background. TASTE: Discover a very mellow, fruity attack, a nougat-like solidity, and a slightly spicy character with hints of liquorice passing into a warm finish that reminds you of caramelised banana. The bitterness always remains in the background but in the end emerges delicately.

This golden copper color ale is brewed, fermented, stored, filtered and bottled before receiving a final addition of brewer’s yeast to create a dry yet not bitter beer. Tempelier then continues to mature in the bottle, which naturally carbonates the beer. Later on, this carbonation creates a brilliant sparkle in the Tempelier glass.

Corsendonk Pater Dubbel is a soft and top-fermented dark beer, refermented and aged in bottle to a lively sparkling beer with rich foam. This beer has caramelized malt on the nose with hints of ripe fruit. Mild on the palate with wellbalanced bitterness, hints of fruit, toasted bread, liquorice, coffee and caramel.

Gouden Carolus Classic, the ‘Grand Imperial Beer’ from Mechelen, is brewed with dark, very balanced dosed caramel and aromatic malts. This unique beer combines the warmth of wine and the freshness of beer. This makes it very suitable in combination with culinary specialties such as stews, pâtés, ripened or strong cheeses. Belgian brown beer of high fermentation with refermentation on the bottle. A rather dry dark speciality beer made with dark malts and different hops. Aroma of caramel malts and orange peel.

The brown beer was originally only brewed for Christmas, but over the centuries it became a force to reckon with. Maredsous Brune has a creamy foaming, dark, burgundy color, is easily recognized by its expressive aroma bouquet. A generous caramel bouquet is completed with masterly fruit touches.

Trappist beers tend to be named after the place in which the monastery is situated. We’ve called ours ‘Tynt Meadow’, to honour the link with the plot of land on which monastic life was refounded here in the Midlands almost two centuries ago. Being part of the great Trappist tradition, we’ve chosen to produce a strong dark ale, but one with a clearly English character. Tynt Meadow is mahogany-coloured, with a subtle, warm red hue, and a lasting beige head. Its aroma carries hints of dark chocolate, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours. The beer is full-bodied, gently balancing the taste of dark chocolate, pepper, and fig. It leaves a warm and dry finish on the palate.

Westmalle Dubbel is a dark, reddish-brown Trappist beer with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. The creamy head has the fragrance of special malt and leaves an attractive lace pattern in the glass. The flavour is rich and complex, herby and fruity with a fresh-bitter finish. It is a balanced quality beer with a soft feel in the mouth and a long, dry aftertaste. The Dubbel contains 7% alcohol.

Arend Tripel is a golden, blond top-fermented beer of 8% ABV. This delicious tripel has a hoppy scent, a silken mouthfeel; a subtle malty taste, a delicate bitterness of hops and a delicious aftertaste with a surprising fruitiness without being overly sweet. It has a very balanced and enjoyable bitter finish that lingers briefly. Thanks to the subtle bitterness our Arend tripel is an ideal appetite stimulant aperitif! Double Bronze medal winner, Silver medal winner, and triple Gold medal winner at the renowned European Beer star Award in Germany, threefold electing this tasty tripel as Best Triple of Europe. Corsendonk Agnus Tripel is a spicy top-fermented blond beer, also refermented in the bottle and matured into a lively sparkling beer with a spicy bouquet and hopped aftertaste.

The allusion to pink elephants and the choice of names is not due to chance. With a particular character, the unique taste results from triple fermentation and the use of three different yeast strains. Sweet, biscuit malt backbone, supported by pleasant warmth and spice, finishes well rounded, floral, and dry. Color and Sight: Pale blond, the fine and regular sparkle creates a nice, stable foam head. Scent: Slightly malty, heavy touch of alcohol, spicy. Taste: A good shot of alcohol ignites in the mouth, as it were, which really warms the tongue and palate. The taste is also characterized by its roundness. The finish is strong, long and dry bitter.

Gerardus Tripel is een krachtig meergranen blond bier met kruiden en specerijen. Een deel van de omzet van Gerardus Tripel is bestemd voor het onderhoud van het Redemptoristenklooster in Wittem, dat overigens tot 1952 zelf een brouwerij had.

Gouden Carolus Tripel was originally brewed for the Knights of the Golden Fleece in 1491. The choice not to filter the beer, as well as not to pasteurize it ensures its taste and aromatic quality. Store this beer, as it ought to be, next to your beloved Grand-Cru and serve at a temperature between 8 and 12°C (46,4 and 53,6°F). You'll be delighted !

St.Bernardus Tripel is a traditional abbey beer that follows the classic ‘Tripel’ style. In the Watou region a tripel is often referred to as a ‘Bernadetje’. A fine tribute that pays homage to Bernadette, the youngest daughter of Evariste Deconinck (founder of the brewery in 1946). St.Bernardus Tripel is a blonde beer with an inviting golden hue and an impressive, velvety-soft head of froth. It has a slightly sweet aroma and a flowery, fruity taste in which bitter and sweet merge harmoniously. Thanks to its pleasant hoppiness, the mouth feel of this beer is nothing short of beatific. A hugely accessible beer that is surprisingly light in character.

The aroma of Tripel d’Anvers immediately reveals the use of meticulously selected malts. It opens with traces of caramel and biscuit that continue in the delicious round taste. Creamy hazelnut and a touch of vanilla pleasantly combine with the delicate herbiness of this robust tripel.

Tripel Karmeliet is still brewed to an authentic beer recipe from 1679 originating in the former Carmelite monastery in Dendermonde. Written over 300 years ago, this recipe describes the use of three kinds of grain: wheat, oats and barley. The name Tripel karmeliet thus refers both to its origin and its in-bottle refermentation. From many trial brews of multigrain tripels carried out at our brewery in the 90s, it appears that the particular historic combination of the 3 kinds of grain still remains the ideal blend.

Tripel LeFort is a golden blonde beer of 8.8% ABV and sets itself apart through its crisp, fruity aroma and beautifully rounded full flavour. The top-fermenting yeast used for Tripel LeFort results in a beer with vanilla-clove aromas as well as a fruity taste of bananas and red apples. Pleasant hints of citrus, lime and roses make this into a balanced beer that is intriguingly complex at the same time.

Was first brewed in 1934 and the recipe has not changed since 1956. It is made with pale candy sugar and has a very pale color produced from a mash of light pilsener malts. Styrian Goldings hops are used along with some German varieties and the classic Saaz pilsener hop. After a long secondary fermentation, the Tripel Westmalle is bottled with a dose of sugar and yeast. This beer holds up well in the bottle over time and seems to soften with age.

A golden malty tripel with a well-balanced bitterness and fruity aftertaste. Diverse flavours come together in harmony. Fresh dry to slightly sweet with subtle notes of coriander. The scent of yellow fruits and delicate bitterness determine the definition of this original and praised tripel.

St.Bernardus Abt 12 is widely regarded as one of the best beers in the world and therefore also the real flagship of our brewery. It is brewed in the classic quadrupel style and adheres to the original 1946 recipe. Did you know that the St.Bernardus on every thousandth label of a 33-centilitre bottle is winking? St.Bernardus Abt 12 is a dark beer of top fermentation with a robust head that is ivory in colour. It has a very fruity aroma that is the result of using our own unique yeast. It brims over with different, complex tastes and stands out through its long, bittersweet finish. It is an ideal partner for rich beef dishes and recipes with game. It also forms a perfect match with blue cheese and chocolate.

Bourbon barrel aged black barleywine.

A characteristically Trappist ale with a warm amber colour and a cream-coloured head. The aroma is associated with clover and nuts, balanced by the sweet aromas of vanilla, raisins and banana. La Trappe Quadrupel is the heaviest of all the La Trappe Trappist ales and it is also the source for the name of this style. A full, heart-warming and intense taste. Malty with sweet tones of dates and caramel. The aftertaste is smooth and slightly bitter.

Dominant impressions of latte coffee with powerful chocolate aromas in the nose. The alcohol esters are enveloped with hints of autumn wood, citrus zest (orange, lemon) and freshly baked biscuits. The initial taste is sweetly sinful. Beer and chocolate trapped into one single glass, a liquid milky draught with a backbone of bitter malt. The alcohol warms the throat and, in the finish, you will pick up traces of cloves, citrus, orange and mocha. The heaviest of the Rochefort beers, the 10 is a quadrupel style beer and can be recognized by its blue label.

Originally called "Spécial," Rochefort 8 dates to the mid-1950s. The name comes from the original gravity in "Belgian degrees." Deep brown color; the flavor is vigorous and complex, with firm body to support the strength. The aroma has elusive notes of fresh fruit, spice, leather, and figs. ABV 9.2 IBU 22

Val-Dieu Grand Cru from Brasserie De L’Abbaye Du Val-Dieu is the latest addition from Cistercian abbey of Val-Dieu, has a deep dark color, is quite oily and spicy, with aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and port wine; finishes slightly dry.

Our latest imperial stout was inspired by the sweet taste of a certain chocolate caramel egg... With each sip there’s a velvety texture among layers of intense chocolate and smooth caramel. Through an extended boil we’ve dialled those Maillard reactions into overdrive, encapsulating the unique gooey goodness and caramelised sweetness in a decadent dessert stout.

So, we’ve paired the two with a layered malt bill of Pale and Biscuit malts, Crystal DRC and roasted Caraffa Special III, plus Chocolate Wheat & Oats, for a rich, full-bodied imperial stout you’ll fall head over heels for. Note: This beer is 8% ABV in bottle, 10.5% in cask and keg. Ola Dubh (pronounced ‘ola-doo’ and Gaelic for ‘black oil’) was conceived in 2007. It was the first ale to be matured in whisky barrels from a named distillery and, with traceable casks and numbered bottles, it is a beer with real provenance. To make Ola Dubh 12, we take our Old Engine Oil (amped up to 10.5%) and age it for up to 6 months in casks that previously held Highland Park 12 Year Old single malt. And it is ready only when our head brewer, Stuart, deems it ready! This amazing brew has been aged in selected oak casks formerly used to mature Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, adding complementary whisky notes to our chocolatey, bittersweet beer. Ola Dubh 12 pours black with a modest spattered head that reduces slowly, leaving behind textbook lacing. The aroma is delicious; smoky Worcestershire sauce, leather, iodine and grilled steak. Flavours of smoky-sweet malts, roasted peat, coffee beans and a well-bittered finish. Overall this is a rather exotic brew with a defined barrel influence. Triple-Stacked Lumberjack Breakfast is an imperial stout brewed in collaboration with 3 Sons Brewing Co, combining their Lumberjack series with a Triple-Stacked dose of waffle, pancake, and maple syrup indulgence. Extended boil times and heavy maple additions crank the sweetness and stickiness to the extreme, making this the most viscous stout we’ve brewed to date. A rich malt bill holds it all together, delivering stacked breakfast flavours, full-bodied sweetness, and a long, syrup-soaked finish.

Saisons are all about the yeast. It’s the specific strains and relatively long fermentation that create the complex spicy, fruity esters and dryness. We used to two classic strains, a “Belgian” and a “French” one to create that classic Saison experience. We are quite satisfied with it, as it has turned into a luxurious and complex beer. We thought it suitable to give it a fancy french name. We proudly present: Les Perles Du Homard.

The first beer we put out officially. Mannenliefde is a saison flavoured with lemongrass, Szechuan pepper and Sorachi Ace hops.

Saison Dupont is a world classic beer and the yardstick for one of Belgium’s most important beer styles. It is the most admired AND imitated Saison in the world. A strong, vital yeast is key to full attenuation and thus to the style. Saison Dupont is straw colored with a dense creamy head. The nose is alive, like fresh raised bread, estery with citrus and spice notes. Full-bodied and malty, it sparkles on the palate and finishes with a zesty hop and citrus attack. Incredibly compatible with food!

DDH IPA – Dry hopped with Citra, Simcoe & Enigma. Packed to the rafters with Citra, Simcoe & Enigma hops, this is a juicy citrus bomb. It explodes with lemon, lime, pineapple and a subtle hint of thyme. It’s creamy, it’s juicy with a refreshing tartness and well balanced bitterness. This one is still a little on the green side, so fans of those massive, mouth-shrinking hop flavors best grab one fast!

Calypso is a blonde beer with 4% alcohol. This refreshing and fruity brew is a real thirst-quencher, perfect for enjoying in the sunshine and for toasting frequently with your existing and new friends.

DDH IPA – Dry hopped with Mosaic, Motueka & Nectaron.

BEHIND THIS BEER Maybe it was coincidence, or maybe it was the luck of the Irish, but our pals over at Whiplash found themselves in GBG recently and we had an empty tank. Dublin-based Whiplash make some mean pale ales and session beers, we make some pretty decent hazy and New England style IPAs, so we both made a departure and settled in the land of the West Coast style DIPA. Taking inspiration from the big hoppy American versions, we chose a couple classic US hop varieties and a couple new school NZ ones to arrive at a bright and punchy beer with a soft fruity sweetness punctuated by a nice clean bitter bite. Grapefruity, piney, tropical and stone fruity all at once, sláinte! It is back for the first time since our lil’ round labels! Dreamed up in the distant past with our forever buddies @Omnipollo, Watermelon Milkshake IPA was brewed with all the oats, lactose and vanilla (not to mention the mountains of Citra and Mosaic that goes into each batch!) you’ve come to expect and love and then conditioned on hundreds of pounds of fresh and fruity watermelon puree. Notes of watermelon Jolly Ranchers, sweet vanilla custard and citrus salad =)

We were really looking forward to this brew. Dave from Lervig is a long time friend of ours since before we started FUERST WIACEK. We came up with this crushable DDH Pale Ale for extended clubbing sessions. Nimble is brewed with a big amount of spelt and wheat. We used Cascade and Chinook in the whirlpool. And then double dry hopped it with loads of Enigma, Citra and Mosaic.

It’s all about the terroir. Here at Stigs we love hops. But we know that not all hops were created equal. The Pacific Northwest of the USA is to hops what Italy is to lemons and we all know what we’re supposed to do when life gives us lemons. So you can probably guess what we do when YCH give us hops. Stigbergets has worked with YCH for so long that it’s almost criminal we’re only making a beer with them now. Often it is those closest to us we take the most for granted. Drawing inspiration from our beloved West Coast we’ve taken this opportunity to use a variety of cryogenically frozen hops (Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe) from YCH for maximum freshness and intensity and obviously deliciousness.

Prepare yourself for a full-throttle joyride through a neon fruit stand. Bursting with mango nectar, overripe tangerine, and electric lime zest, it’s a juicy haze bomb with a hint of orchard mystery—fuzzy apricots, crushed leaves, and a whisper of peach cobbler. Lush, pulpy, and dangerously smooth, with just enough bite to keep it from going full smoothie. All we can say is WOWSERS!

Een Weizen op de Ebontree manier: We hebben tijdens de lagering een heerlijke groene thee toegevoegd. Sencha-cactusvijg. Dit geeft het bier een heerlijk zacht frisse smaak. Heerlijk om in het zonnetje van te genieten. Tevens een ode aan Fennel, de barbier van Ebontree. Een groot liefhebber van fruitige theesoorten.

A full-bodied, Amsterdam wheat beer that is dangerously ‘moreish’. Slightly cloudy, it has a beautiful golden colour and a soft, foamy head. When we brew IJwit, we use wheat malt as well as barley malt, which is also how the beer gets its name. The wheat malt gives the beer a delightful, fresh flavour, and the addition of coriander and lemon during the brewing process produces a rich aroma of banana, citrus and spices. Topped off by a fine, slightly sweet aftertaste, IJwit is a delicious thirst-quencher.

Bacchus Raspberry is a reddish-brown beer with a thick, light beige head. The aroma is enticingly fresh and fruity, with pronounced notes of raspberry and subtle hints of caramel malts. The gentle sweetness slowly transitions into a fruity wave of ripe raspberries, followed by delicate sour notes. On the finish, the sweetness of the raspberries dominates, with the acidity slowly fading and giving way to a smooth, fruity aftertaste.

Bacchus Cherry is a beautiful claret beer with a luxurious, pinkish-brown head. The fruity aroma of Oblacinska cherries is backed by subtle woody notes and a slight almondy touch derived from the cherry stones. The sour freshness blends seamlessly with softer, sweet nuances enriched by lightly roasted malts and a subtle note of caramel. The mouthfeel is full and well-rounded, with the sour notes transitioning smoothly into a lingering, fulsome sweet aftertaste.

Cuvée des Jacobins Rouge is a Flemish Sour Ale, red in color with a beguiling balance of malty sweetness and acidic sharpness. It is made from spontaneously fermented and barrel-aged beer of at least 18 months in age. The beer is cooled overnight in a large, shallow metal vessel called a coolship and then fermented and aged in large oak foudres which are made in France and assembled on-site at Bockor.

Duchesse de Bourgogne from Brouwerij Verhaeghe is the traditional Flemish red ale. This refreshing ale is matured in oak casks; smooth with a rich texture and interplay of passion fruit, and chocolate, and a long, dry and acidic finish. After the first and secondary fermentation, the beer goes for maturation into the oak barrels for 18 months. The final product is a blend of younger 8 months old beer with 18 months old beer. The average age of the Duchesse de Bourgogne before being bottled is 12 months.

Liefmans Goudenband is one of the most distinctive dark beers in the world. Originally called IJzerenband (Iron Band) – a reference to the iron bands around the beer barrels – the bottle gained its champagne cork when it was renamed Liefmans Goudenband (Gold Band). Made in open vats with beer of mixed fermentation, it is left to mature for four to 12 months in the cellar. Mature beer is then fortified with younger beer, so the fermentation process starts up again. Liefmans Goudenband is a beer for storing, and just keeps improving over the years like a fine wine. Even after ten years, this dark red beer tastes as fresh as ever. You’ll immediately pick up on the wonderful aromas of caramel, apple, rhubarb, cherries and malt. On the taste buds you will find hints of apple and cherries, combined with woody notes, while the aftertaste hints at nuts and dried raisins. The mildly acidic taste make this beer a perfect match for blue cheese.

Kasteel Rouge is a strong, ruby red beer brewed from Kasteel Donker and featuring Oblacinska cherries. With a deliciously velvety mouthfeel, its subtle acidity ensures that the sweetness of the cherries does not overpower the beer. The balance of flavors allows us to experience depth and complexity with every sip. With its distinctive dry finish, the beer is eminently drinkable. Ready for ‘la vie en Rouge’?

Formerly known as Liefmans Kriek and Cuvée - Brut. This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class…

Pecheresse is a lambic beer blended with ripe, juicy peaches. Each sip is decadently fruity and full of peach flavor.

A dramatic fruit beer with an intense, mouth-watering fruit character derived from the natural acidity of organic raspberries. Slow, complex fermentation lends structure and depth to this special fruit beer. Smooth body, finishes dry, with a soft raspberry note

2 years old Wild Ale aged for additional 10 months on Polish Cherries.

Lambic is one of the world's oldest beers. According to some, it is also the best, even if its characteristic acidity does not please all palates. To offset this acidity, some decided to add sugar to it. Thus faro was born. Adding sugar syrup to lambic was a revelation at the time of Bruegel. (Some even argue that without faro, Bruegel would have been deprived of inspiration and would have remained an ordinary amateur painter whose canvases couldn't even have been sold at a flea market.) Until the 19th century, faro was very prevalent in the Brussels region. Folklore there was frequently associated with it, and the divine liquid flowed like water. Then faro fell into oblivion. It was not until 1978 that our family brought it back to centre stage. Or centre Senne, as you prefer. Particularly appreciated after physical exertion, faro is not only easy to drink, it is a joy to do so.

Boon Geuze Mariage Parfait has an alcohol content of 8%. It consists of 95% mild lambic, aged at least three years and specially reserved for this purpose, and 5% young lambic. The latter provides the fermentable sugars and wild yeasts. After mixing in a vessel of 25,000 litres, the wort (unfermented mixture) is filtered and chilled. If we are bottling, we bring it back to fermentation temperature. The bottles are placed in a climate-controlled space for the secondary fermentation. This is followed by maturing at low temperature for at least 6 months. Want to know the bottling date? Simply subtract 20 years from the “best before” date! The soft, mildly sour berry taste, harmonises with the oak barrels’ aromas in which Geuze Mariage Parfait has ripen. The body speaks of vanilla followed by a bitter aftertaste of cloves that becomes increasingly intense. Sublime.

The Gueuze Cantillon, a real spontaneous fermentation beer, is entirely made up of Lambic. This Lambic is brewed with organically grown wheat (35%) and barley malt (65%), and with dried hops. To be drunk preferably within 20 years after the bottling date. Beer with taste evolution. Ingredients: water, barley malt*, wheat*, hops Organic agriculture

Oude Geuze Boon is a monument of taste with an alcohol content of 7%. It’s a magnificent blend of 90% mild 18 month-old lambic, 5% strong 3 year-old beer and 5% very young lambic, which provides fermentable sugars and wild yeasts. All our beers are aged in oak casks, mixed in a vessel of 25,000 litres and chilled. Before bottling, we bring the mix to fermentation temperature. The bottles are then placed in an air-conditioned room, which leads to a secondary fermentation in the bottle. This is when the lambic becomes gueuze. After several months of aging in the bottle, the gueuze develops its delicate flavour. Want to know the bottling date? Simply subtract 20 years from the “best before” date! Taste carefully and you will uncover a fruity grapefruit and ginger flavour with a hint of Muscat grapes. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the wholehearted body and the sublime finish – an explosion of Germanic and Romance cultures.

Finally we have the perfect geuze for the real sporter, the wannabe sporter and the sporter who prefer not to sport! For this geuze we selected some very soft & easy-to-drink lambics. This results in a real everyman's friend of 6.5 abv.

Our Oude Gueuze is a blend of young and old lambics, which has aged respectively 1 and 3 years in oak barrels. Bottle refermented, with distinct brett aromas, balanced acidity and notes of red apple, citrus and oak.

This smoothie sour is just A Lil’ Stoopid, by our standards at least… Still jam-packed with strawberry, blackberry, creamy coconut, and that signature thicc-ness, but with the Stoopidity dialled down a notch. A more sessionable smoothie sour, still dedicated to anyone who’s ever asked, “Why can’t beer just taste like beer?”

GALIPETTE BIOLOGIQUE is an organic cuvée, made from 100% organic cider apples. It has an exciting wildflower character that naturally varies with the seasons in authentic organic style. The assemblage majors on bitter-sweet apples with just a hint of sweet varieties, such as Carting, Sweet Moen and Belle Fille de la Manche, all native to the centuries-old orchards of Normandy. Light fermentation preserves the natural floral aromas and yields a lower alcohol level. To create Guinness 0.0, the St James’s Gate brewers start by brewing Guinness exactly as they always have, using the same natural ingredients; water, barley, hops and yeast; before gently removing the alcohol through a cold filtration method. The cold filtration process allows the alcohol to be filtered out without presenting thermal stress to the beer, protecting the integrity of its taste and character. The brewers then carefully blend and balance the flavours to ensure the distinctive flavour profile and taste characteristics of Guinness. The resulting product is a stout that is unmistakably Guinness, just without the alcohol, featuring the same dark, ruby red liquid and creamy head, hints of chocolate and coffee.
